Nascar....

My daily rant- NASCAR:

I have to ask if anyone understands the excitement, the point, why on earth anyone would waste precious time in their life watching Nascar?

The reason I ask is because I happen to find it on tv at my mom's and she seems to thoroughly enjoy it...

From what I can tell I could sum up the entire race: The cars go around over and over again around a track and sometimes the yahoos crash at frightening speeds.

I could possibly understand if people tuned into the very end to see who crossed the finish line last... I could even understand if they watched the whole final lap. But the entire race? Geeze. The only cars racing around that I would ever care to watch is that of a high speed police chase on the local news. Maybe I am just missing something...

... my attempt at a diet

After 3 days or what seems like years of attempting to cut sugar out of my diet and go on a healthy liver and body cleansing diet- I had a breaking point yesterday when I smelled brownies baking in the oven and it was basically all down hill from there. Apparently my household has taken on the duty of keeping the girl scout's in business solely by themselves- i think we could fill a room up with all of the sweets that are abundant in our house... the worst of which those girl scout cookies! I have a wee bit of self control when it comes to a majority of them... but those somoa's (which have now been renamed caramel delights) are irresistable. Either way, it least I learned that it is impossible, it least in my case to fully cut out sugar. Maybe in moderation a diet would work- but trying to cut it out all together pretty much sets you up for disaster as I experienced yesterday.

Detox starts manana...

Sooo since spring break is coming up, I have decided to start a detox for a week. Not only should it shed some pounds, but alsoo very healthy for your body- liver, kidneys, skin etc etc. Supposedly this detox will help allergies, boost your energy and mood levels and help muscle and joint pain... I guess I shall see how it works and report back to my 1 follower I have on here. haha

The 1st day starts and throughout the cleanse you are suppose to drink lemon water which cleanses your body naturally... and probiotics... lots of probiotics.

Here are some more of the "rules" listed for the detox:

- eat smaller portions
- eat whole grains...cut out bleached flour
- cut out food with added flavor or added sugar
- think green.. and eat lots of green veggies
- take supplements
- take a "soak" (my fav part, sounds relaxing!)

Good thing my mom agreed to do it with me!...I have no self control and I know she will hold me to it.

Early Bedtime...

Very Festive!

Last night my friend Jenny and I went out with high hopes for our St. Patrick's Day... but ended up calling it a night around 1030pm. We might possibly have actually spent more time waiting in line to get into the irish pub than we actually spent in the place. hahaha Such party animals- Shucks... must mean we are gettin to be old farts or maybe the pitcher of green beer and Jager shots had something to do with it. :)

Oh well, at least we both dodged the lovely hangover that most people were sporting this morning!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hope you all are wearing green so that you don't get pinched... I have had the joy of making a "leprechaun catcher" with my younger brother this year, which was quite exciting. But I dont know if much could beat my time I spent in Ireland with my best friends... especially the Guinness factory. mmmm

Let the green beer drinking begin...

Jenny's Walk 2009

Jenny's walk is a fundraising event held annually (this is its second year) in memory of our loving friend and sorority sister Jenny Poliakoff. She was an active member of the Friendship Circle; which is an organization that addresses children with special needs such as autism, Down's syndrome, and other physical and/or emotional challenges.

The 5k is on May 3rd, 2009 at San Diego State University. You even have the option to sign up to be a "virtual walker" (for those that cant be there in person) and just want to donate anyways.

I attended last year and although I don't live in the area I intend upon making my way there for this special event. It truly is something amazing to see all of the lives Jenny touched who make their way out to walk for a cause she supported; the Friendship Circle. Following the walk, there will be BBQ, carnival events, music, special guest appearances.

Sign up now!!

My HS Enchilada Video ha

A quick recap

I am new to this blogospheric world, so here is my 1st post:

I recently graduated from SDSU majoring in marketing. It was truly the most amazing 4 1/2 years of my life so far... I met some amazing friends, many of whom were members of my sorority, Alpha Phi, and I travelled to some amazing places. I learned a lot- about life, myself and the world. After all of this I have found myself back at home with my parents in what I like to call the "transition phase"- hopefully not to last for very much longer. Who knows what the future holds... in the meantime I will have to deal and learn to love the shrill noises (some of which may only be heard by dogs and dolphins) made my two little brothers in the wee hours of the morning....
